I decided to start this blog to give people an insight into what it’s like to be a B&B socialiser for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
My husband and I have volunteered for the charity for around 5 years and over this time have welcomed many Hearing Dogs into our home. Whether it be for a night or a few months, we love welcoming each pup into our home and trying to make their stay as fun and stress free as possible.
My plan is to provide regular updates on whichever pup is staying in our ‘Hearing Dog Hotel’ and hopefully provide an insight into what it’s like to look after a Hearing Dog in training and also help to raise awareness of this wonderful charity.
Thanks for visiting!

At the weekend we went to Suffolk to celebrate my parents’ 30th Wedding Anniversary.
We all had a rather busy, jam packed weekend! We met up with clever Hearing Dog Honey and her lovely recipient (see previous blog post), explored the surrounding villages and spent hours and hours on the beach. Continue reading “Zara’s trip to the beach”

(Proud Pupmum moment!) Continue reading “Zara’s been busy!”
Last weekend we were very lucky to have an extra visitor to the Hearing Dog Hotel!

Well Saturday was rather a funny day with the ever changing weather. Zara went for a walk in the local fields with her favourite ‘ball wanger’ and we managed to see a bit of the sun! Continue reading “Weekend Fun!”
So this is something I get asked about a lot; a lot of people ask me how can I bear to part with the dogs I look after and “do I not become attached to them?”.

Today we went along to the Hearing Dogs Spring Open day. We were helping out on the Puppy Sponsorship stand as Zara is a sponsor pup. Continue reading “Hearing Dogs Spring Open Day”
Bed & Breakfast Socialising is one of many volunteering roles at Hearing Dogs.
When the pups are around 8 weeks old, they leave their Mum and continue their journey to becoming a life changing Hearing Dog. They go and live with Puppy Socialisers until Continue reading “What is B&B Socialising?”
